We are delighted to announce a gift of $10,000 toward the establishment of a Wilbur and Marie Washington endowed scholarship at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. This significant gift moves us quickly toward the goal of receiving the required $25,000 toward a named endowed scholarship.
Memorial Service announcement for Dr. Wilbur Washington
We sadly share the news of the passing of Dr. Wilbur Washington, a 1952 graduate of Â鶹ÊÓƵ. ÌýDr. Washington served as a congregational pastor in Illinois, California and New York, a professor and chaplain at Central College in Pella, Iowa, and professor at Â鶹ÊÓƵ from 1980 to 1985. Wilbur served as the first African American President of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in America in 1988-1989. Dr. Washington, with his wife Marie, also served a number of congregations as an interim pastor in his retirement years.

In recognition of his remarkable life and faithful ministry, Â鶹ÊÓƵ conferred on Dr. Washington an honorary degree in divinity in May of this year.
