We are delighted to announce a gift of $10,000 toward the establishment of a Wilbur and Marie Washington endowed scholarship at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. This significant gift moves us quickly toward the goal of receiving the required $25,000 toward a named endowed scholarship.
Memorial Service announcement for Dr. Wilbur Washington

We sadly share the news of the passing of Dr. Wilbur Washington, a 1952 graduate of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. ÌýDr. Washington served as a congregational pastor in Illinois, California and New York, a professor and chaplain at Central College in Pella, Iowa, and professor at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ from 1980 to 1985. Wilbur served as the first African American President of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in America in 1988-1989. Dr. Washington, with his wife Marie, also served a number of congregations as an interim pastor in his retirement years.

In recognition of his remarkable life and faithful ministry, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ conferred on Dr. Washington an honorary degree in divinity in May of this year.
